The First Step On The Road

July 9, 2009

I’ve gotten woefully behind with my blogging in the midst of our travels, so here is the cliff notes version of what we’ve been up to he past two weeks:  We set out from Hutchinson two weekends ago for Tulsa with my grandpa in tow.  We spent three days in Tulsa, visiting my Grandma, Aunts, Uncles, and cousins, as well as our close friends Josh and Erin Wilson, and a couple Nikki knew from her Glenwood days in KC.  We visited a few churches, though no immediate breakthroughs there.  Just some foundational relationship building.  We moved on to Siloam Springs, Arkansas for a couple days at LIFT camp with Pastor Tim.  It was an encouraging and uplifting time, and exciting to see the energy of the teens (Wasn’t I where they were just a few years ago?  It seems like ages ago now).  We spoke with a few pastors and youth pastors and connected over the phone with a pastor in Denver, so we will head there at the end of the month (Go west, young man!).  Now we are in KC and have had some great meetings with a few pastors up here.  We’ve spent a great deal of time with Nikki’s parents, her brother and his visiting friend.  We also plan on exploring Kansas City a little more and seeing some of the local sights to behold.  I was responsible for our traveling mix on the way to Tulsa, here was what I put together:
